Creative Business students pitch new formats during Dutch Media Week

Eight second-year Creative Business students have been selected to pitch their tv concepts in front of a panel existing out of Ralph de Beurs (creative director RTL), Marlin Mastenbroek (Head of Productions & Content at Paramount), and Suzanne Kunzeler (director content BNNVARA). These three people attending pitches, while being each other’s competitors, is a truly unique setting.

The event was part of the programme of the Dutch Media Week and took place on October 5 at the offices of BNNVARA at the Media Park in Hilversum.

Students Maud Ronner, Jurian Willemen, Ilse van Proosdij, Isa de Goede and Anne Thijs pitched ‘Je kunt beter krijgen’ (‘You Deserve Better’), a reality series in which love couples are tested after one of their friends or relatives showing doubts about the true nature of the relationship.

Noa van Bodegom, Grace Gross and Devlin van Doormalen pitched ’Het Complot (‘Conspiracy’), a reality game show in the tradition of ‘De Verraders’ and ‘Wie is de Mol?’: a programme full of suspense and unexpected plot twists.

The expert panel was very impressed by both formats and the way they were pitched, and gave both teams valuable feedback. Having this unique opportunity so early in your professional career was truly an unforgettable experience.
