Out of more than 15 thesis entries Creative Business alumna Napsugár became the winner with her Bachelor thesis. Her outstanding work ‘Exploring Ways to Direct Viewers Attention in 360 Degree Films’ was recognized as the best bachelor thesis of the competition.

Following the great achievement, Napsugár says, 'I am deeply honoured to accept this award. Crafting my thesis was a journey filled with challenges and self-doubt, but I persevered. Winning this competition reaffirms that determination and hard work truly pay off. Let this be a reminder to never underestimate your own potential, for greatness awaits those who refuse to give up.'

A great achievement and to be proud of! Napsugár wins a prize of 400 Euro and will showcase her paper for Edcom members in May 2024 with her research and methodology.

Napsugár was supervised by our colleague Miruna Doicaru, who says, ‘I am very glad to see that Napsugar’s hard work, creativity, inquisitive mind and research talent are recognized at an European level. With Virtual Reality being used in a multitude of fields, from video games, to cinema, education and therapy, Napsugar recognized the imperative need of storytellers to understand how to draw attention to key aspect of the narrative content in VR. With careful attention to detail, Napsugar designed an experimental study for which she produced the stimulus materials herself, collecting data not only through self-report measurements but also through objective measurements based on eye tracking technology. Napsugar is a young talent that brings an important contribution to the exciting field of understanding immersive experiences’.

The Edcom thesis competition is a great opportunity for BUas to show the results of graduate students and their graduation reports on European level and with close connection to the industry. See more for previous winners: Previous editions - Training Tomorrow’s Talents (edcom.eu)
