2024 BUas Creative Business Year 1 Short Film Festival Awards

Last 14th June 2024, the BUas Creative Business Short Film Festival was held at the BUas Chapel. This is the culminating project of the first-year Creative Business students, in which they have to write their scripts from their CON3 Scriptwriting class, negotiate agreements with their MED3 Legal class, then produce the short films as part of their PRO3 AV production course and at the end create a marketing campaign as part of their MAR2 marketing class to promote the films for the film festival.

The film festival was also hosted by students, Emily Taslim and Saskia Türk.

Thank you also for the support of Academy for Games & Media managers, Arnoud Versluis and Mathijs van der Kroft together with Production House Coordinator, Estela Lindes Creus and Year 1 Coordinator, Cagri Sumengen.

Mathijs van der Kroft, CB education manager, remarked, 'It is a great end of the year project for students to show what they have accomplished in Year 1 and demonstrate their work as part of their portfolio.'

Several awards were given to the students. The winners are:

Best Film, Best Audio, Best Script: Like Father Like Son

Best Cinematography, Best Poster: A Deal with the Devil

Best Directing: Never too Old

Bente Vries, Freya Willems, Barbare Saikodse, Mees Wilde, Vanesa Vráblová

Best Editing: Left Behind

David Donca, Devon Gijzen, Daniel Horváth, Manel Chihi

Best Production Design: Beyond the Abbey

Anjelina Pankova, Bella Wierson, Jade Maree, Karolina Radevall, Elizaveta Riškova
